Understanding Wood Variety

Biomes O' Plenty adds dozens of unique wood types, each with distinct colors and textures. This data pack lets you use any of them for casings, opening up creative building possibilities beyond the limited vanilla palette.

Visual Planning

Before committing to a large factory, gather samples of stripped wood from different Biomes O' Plenty biomes and craft a few casings of each type. Place them side-by-side to see which colors and wood grain patterns complement your build's theme. Some woods are warm and earthy, while others are pale or darkly stained.

Mixing Wood Types

You don't need to use the same wood throughout your entire factory. Mix Andesite, Brass, and Copper Casings with different wood sources to create visual interest and break up large mechanical structures. This approach also lets you use whatever wood is most abundant near your base, reducing travel time.

Consider the surrounding biome's aesthetic too—using wood from nearby Biomes O' Plenty biomes can make your factory feel more integrated into the landscape.
