Observe Realistic Explosion Physics and Timing

Understanding Delayed Sound and Distance

This mod simulates real-world explosion behavior by separating the visual blast from the audio. Sound travels at a realistic speed across your world, so distant explosions will look like they detonate before you hear them.

Step 1: Place TNT at varying distances from your position—nearby, medium range, and far away.

Step 2: Ignite all blocks and observe the timing difference between the visible shockwave and the boom sound.

Step 3: Notice how closer explosions produce immediate sound and intense camera shake, while distant ones show a noticeable delay.

Crater Formation

Unlike vanilla Minecraft's spherical blast radius, this mod uses energy-transfer crater physics. Explosions carve irregular, realistic blast zones that respect terrain and block types. The shockwave spreads outward visually before blocks are destroyed, creating a wave-like destruction pattern.

Experiment with different terrain types and TNT cluster sizes to see how crater depth and shape vary based on the explosion's energy distribution.
