Keep the End Portal open while fighting the dragon

Maintain contributor presence in the End

Once at least one contributing player enters the End dimension, the portal will remain open as long as that player stays alive. You don't need all contributors to remain in the portal room anymore—only at least one needs to survive in the End.

Coordinate your team's survival

Designate roles for your team: some players can focus on dragon combat while others manage positioning and safety. Since the portal stays open with even one survivor, prioritize keeping at least one contributor alive throughout the fight.

Watch for portal closure

If all contributing players die before defeating the dragon, the portal will close. Ensure your team has adequate supplies, armor, and healing items. Communicate constantly about health status and positioning to maintain that critical survivor who keeps the gateway active for respawns and escape.
