Cooperative End Access Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I set up a cooperative End Portal with my friends?
Have each team member place their Eyes of Ender into the portal frame up to their personal limit, then gather everyone inside the activation radius around the portal. Once all contributors are present, the portal will activate and you can enter the End together.
What's the maximum number of eyes one player can place?
By default, each player can contribute up to 3 Eyes of Ender to a single portal, but this limit is configurable by server administrators.
Can I take back an eye I placed in the portal?
Yes, you can retrieve your own Eyes of Ender from the portal frame at any time, but taking them back may cause the portal to close if it affects the activation requirements.
What happens if someone leaves while we're fighting the dragon?
If a contributing player leaves the End dimension before the dragon is defeated, the portal will close and you'll be trapped. At least one contributor must stay alive in the End to keep the portal open.
Do all contributors need to stay near the portal frame the whole time?
Contributors only need to be within the activation radius to open the portal initially. Once someone enters the End, at least one contributor must remain alive in that dimension to keep the portal stable, but they don't need to stay in the portal room.
Can I remove an eye that another player placed?
No, you can only remove your own Eyes of Ender. Attempting to take another player's eye will be blocked and you'll receive an error message.
What happens after we defeat the Ender Dragon?
Once the dragon is defeated for the first time, all End Portals on the server become permanently stabilized and revert to vanilla behavior, so cooperation is no longer required.
Does the mod work on single-player worlds?
The mod is designed for multiplayer servers, but it will still function in single-player—you just need to place all required eyes yourself and stand in the portal room to activate it.
How far away can I be from the portal and still keep it open?
Contributing players must stay within the activation radius (default 16 blocks) of the portal for it to remain open, though you'll receive action bar updates from up to 60 blocks away.
What if someone places an eye but then never shows up to the portal?
The portal will remain closed until that player arrives within the activation radius. If they don't come, you'll need to ask them to join or have them remove their eye so the portal can activate with fewer contributors.
