Coffee Shaders FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I turn on Coffee Shaders?
Open the Shaders menu from your video settings, then browse to the Coffee Shaders folder and select it. The shader will activate immediately and you'll see the lighting changes take effect in your world.
Why are my shadows flickering or glitching?
Flickering shadows often happen when shadow quality is set too high for your hardware. Try lowering the shadow distance or quality setting in the shader options, or disable shadow filtering if the issue persists.
Can I use Coffee Shaders with other mods?
Coffee Shaders works with most mods, but mods that heavily modify lighting or block rendering may cause conflicts. Test your mod combination and check that your shader settings don't conflict with mod-added blocks or light sources.
My caves are still too dark even with the shader on
Adjust the ambient lighting or cave brightness settings in the shader options menu to increase how much light reaches dark areas. You can also place more light sources like torches to work with the shader's lighting system.
How do I get better fps with Coffee Shaders?
Lower the shadow quality, reduce shadow distance, or disable bloom effects in the shader settings. Start with lower settings and gradually increase them until you find the balance between visuals and performance that works for your computer.
Does Coffee Shaders work on servers?
Shaders are client-side only, so you can use Coffee Shaders on any server without needing the server to have it installed. However, the server's terrain generation and lighting won't change—only what you see on your client.
Why do water and glass look weird with this shader?
Coffee Shaders changes how reflections and transparency are rendered, which can make water and glass look different than vanilla. Adjust the reflection or water settings in the shader options if you want to tone down these effects.
Can I use Coffee Shaders with OptiFine?
Coffee Shaders is designed to work independently, but compatibility with Optifine depends on your setup. If you experience issues, try using the shader without Optifine first to isolate the problem.
How do I customize the warm glow effect?
Open the shader settings and look for bloom, glow, or brightness options to adjust how intense the warm effect is around light sources. You can usually disable it entirely or reduce its strength to match your preference.
Why does my game look washed out or too bright?
This usually means the bloom or exposure settings are too high. Lower the bloom intensity or exposure value in the shader options, or adjust your monitor's brightness to find a better balance.
