Populate a Dungeon with Trainer Battles and Boss Encounters

Build Your Battle Pool

Before placing encounters, create a pool of Pokémon parties for trainers to use. Assemble a Pokémon party in your inventory, then run /dungeon pool addcurrent <dungeon> <type> <id> [name] to add it to the dungeon's battle pool. The <type> determines encounter difficulty — use different types for regular trainers versus minibosses versus final bosses.

Repeat this process to build variety into your dungeon, creating multiple parties so encounters feel fresh and unpredictable.

Place Encounters in Rooms

Once your pool is populated, place trainer encounters throughout your dungeon areas. Regular trainers can be scattered in exploration corridors, minibosses positioned in dedicated rooms, and your strongest trainer boss reserved for the final arena.

For single-Pokémon boss encounters, the mod spawns a standalone Pokémon with boosted stats and multiple health bars — ideal for raid-style fights. Configure which party pools feed each encounter type, then test battles to ensure difficulty progression feels balanced.
