Troubleshoot Missing or Flat Skies

Verify Resource Pack is Active

1. Open Options → Resource Packs

2. Confirm this pack appears in the Selected column (right side)

3. If it's in the Available packs list, click it and select the arrow to move it to Selected

4. Ensure it's positioned above any other sky-modifying packs

5. Exit to the main menu and reload your world

Check OptiFine Installation

1. Confirm OptiFine is installed by opening Video Settings

2. Look for OptiFine-specific options like Custom Sky, Custom Colors, and Clouds

3. If these don't appear, OptiFine isn't active — reinstall it

4. Ensure you're using a compatible version of OptiFine for your Minecraft version

Enable Required Settings

1. Open Video Settings and set Custom Sky to ON

2. Set Custom Colors to ON

3. Verify Clouds is set to Fancy (not OFF)

4. Return to the main menu and reload

Last Resort

If the sky remains flat:

  • Delete the resource pack and reinstall it
  • Check for corrupted files in your resource pack folder
  • Verify no conflicting mods or packs are interfering
  • Try in a fresh world to rule out world-specific issues
