Clouds Pack Relaunched Resource Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Why do my clouds look flat and vanilla even though I installed the pack?
You need to enable Custom Skies and Custom Clouds in OptiFine's video settings. Open Video Settings > Quality > Custom Skies and Custom Clouds, then set both to ON. Without these enabled, OptiFine won't load the pack's sky replacements.
Do I need OptiFine to use this pack?
Yes, this pack requires OptiFine because it uses OptiFine's custom sky system to replace the vanilla sky with detailed clouds and 3D celestial bodies. Without OptiFine, the pack will not work.
The sun and moon look like flat squares instead of 3D spheres. How do I fix this?
Make sure Custom Skies is enabled in OptiFine settings. If it's already on, try disabling and re-enabling it, or restart your game. If the issue persists, verify the pack is actually selected as your active resource pack in the Resource Packs menu.
Can I use this pack with other sky or weather mods?
This pack may conflict with other mods that modify the sky or weather systems. Test compatibility by enabling one mod at a time; if the sky looks wrong, disable the conflicting mod and keep only this pack active.
My FPS drops when I look at the sky. How do I improve performance?
Lower the cloud render distance in OptiFine's video settings, or reduce your overall render distance. You can also disable Custom Clouds temporarily if performance is critical, though this will remove the detailed clouds.
The clouds don't move or animate. Is that normal?
Clouds should drift slowly across the sky throughout the day. If they're static, check that Custom Clouds is enabled in OptiFine and that you're not in a confined space like a cave or indoors where the sky isn't visible.
How do I customize the sky colors for sunrise, sunset, or night?
OptiFine's Custom Sky settings allow you to adjust sky colors through the video settings menu. You can modify these values to create different atmospheric effects, though the pack comes with pre-configured colors that match its cloud and celestial designs.
Does this pack work in multiplayer servers?
Yes, resource packs are client-side, so you can use this pack on any server without the server needing to install it. Only you will see the custom clouds and 3D sky.
The night sky looks too dark or too bright. Can I adjust it?
You can adjust night sky brightness through OptiFine's Brightness slider or by tweaking Custom Sky settings in the video menu. Experiment with these values to find a balance that works for your preference.
Will this pack work with shader mods?
Most shaders are compatible with this pack, but some shaders may override or conflict with the custom sky. If the clouds disappear when using a shader, try disabling the shader's sky effects or switching to a shader known to work well with custom skies.
