Enable Custom Skies and Clouds in OptiFine
Prerequisites
This resource pack requires OptiFine to display its custom sky and cloud features. Without OptiFine, you'll see only standard Minecraft skies.
Enabling Custom Sky Settings
1. Launch Minecraft with OptiFine installed
2. Open Options → Video Settings
3. Scroll down and locate Custom Sky — set this to ON
4. Also enable Custom Colors to ensure proper sky tinting during sunrise and sunset
5. Return to the main menu and load your world
Adjusting Cloud Appearance
If clouds appear too dense or sparse:
1. Return to Video Settings
2. Find Clouds and adjust the setting (Fast, Fancy, or OFF)
3. For best results with this pack, use Fancy clouds
4. You can also modify Cloud Height if available in your OptiFine version
Troubleshooting
If you see a flat vanilla sky instead of detailed clouds:
- Confirm the resource pack is active in your resource pack list
- Verify OptiFine is installed and Custom Sky is enabled
- Try reloading your world (exit and re-enter)
The pack works best on high-end systems; if performance drops, lower other video settings while keeping Custom Sky enabled.
