Configure Chunk Loading Rules for Your Server

Understanding Configuration Options

Server admins can customize how Chunk Carts behaves by editing the settings file. Key options include:

• enforcement: Choose strict or permissive mode to control how strictly chunk loading rules are applied
• departure-requirement: Set whether a player must be online or nearby for a cart to start its journey
• progress-slack-chunks: Adjust how far a cart can travel in a loop before the safety system stops loading chunks

Applying Changes

After editing the configuration file, use /chunkcarts reload to apply the new settings without restarting the server or stopping active carts. This lets you fine-tune the plugin's behavior on the fly.

Finding the Right Balance

Strict mode prevents abuse but may limit automation. Permissive mode allows more freedom but requires careful track design. Adjust progress-slack-chunks if carts are stopping too early on intentional loops, or increase it if players are abusing the system to keep areas loaded.
