Finding Your First Chocobo

ChocoCraft adds chocobos to your world. To begin, you need to locate one in the wild. Chocobos spawn in grassy, open areas similar to where you would find horses. Once you find one, you cannot simply walk up and ride it — you must first tame it.

Taming and Riding

To tame a chocobo, you need to feed it Gysahl Greens. Gysahl Greens are the core item of the mod and are used for taming, breeding, and healing chocobos. Hold Gysahl Greens and use them on a chocobo repeatedly until hearts appear, indicating it is tamed. Once tamed, you can place a Saddle on the chocobo to ride it. While riding, you control its movement just like a horse.

Caring for Your Chocobo

Tamed chocobos need to be fed Gysahl Greens to restore health and keep them in good condition. You can also breed two tamed chocobos by feeding each one Gysahl Greens, producing a baby chocobo. Baby chocobos grow into adults over time. Keep your chocobos in a fenced area to prevent them from wandering off, and always carry a stack of Gysahl Greens when traveling so you can heal your mount after fights or falls.
