Chickens to Turkey Resource Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Do I need to restart my world to see the turkeys?
No, but you do need to reload your resource pack. Go to Options > Resource Packs, toggle the Chickens to Turkey pack off and back on, then return to your world—the chickens should now appear as turkeys.
Will the turkeys lay eggs and breed like normal chickens?
Yes, turkeys behave identically to vanilla chickens in every way—they still lay eggs, breed with seeds, and drop the same items when killed. This pack only changes their appearance.
Can I use this pack with other resource packs?
Yes, but load order matters. Place the Chickens to Turkey pack higher in your resource pack list than any other packs that modify chickens to avoid conflicts.
Why are my turkeys still looking like chickens?
Make sure the resource pack is actually enabled in your world settings and that you've reloaded it. If you're playing on a server, the server must also have the pack installed for other players to see your turkeys.
Do turkeys spawn naturally in the world or only on farms?
Turkeys spawn anywhere vanilla chickens would spawn—in villages, on grass blocks in warm biomes, and in farm structures. You don't need to place them manually.
Will this pack work in multiplayer?
Yes, as long as all players have the resource pack installed. Players without it will still see regular chickens, but the game will function normally either way.
Does this affect performance or cause lag?
No, resource packs are client-side only and don't impact server or world performance. The custom 3D models are optimized for standard gameplay.
Can I disable the pack for just one world?
Yes, go to that world's Resource Packs settings and toggle the Chickens to Turkey pack off. Other worlds will keep the pack active if you want.
What Minecraft versions does this pack support?
Check the pack's description or download page for the specific versions it's designed for. Resource packs are usually version-specific, so using it on the wrong version may cause turkeys not to appear.
Do the turkeys make different sounds than chickens?
No, turkeys use the same sounds as vanilla chickens since this is a resource pack that only changes visuals, not game audio or behavior.
