Run Commands as Console vs. Player

Understand Execution Context

When your trigger item hits another player, the configured command can run in two ways: as the attacking player, or directly from the server console. This choice affects what permissions and abilities the command has.

Choose Player Execution

If you want the attacking player to execute the command, enable player-based execution in your configuration. This is useful when you want commands to respect the attacker's permissions or when the command should appear to come from them.

Choose Console Execution

For commands that require high-level server permissions or should bypass player restrictions, configure the command to run from the console instead. This ensures the command always executes with full server authority, regardless of the attacker's rank.

Test Both Modes

Try your trigger item with each execution mode enabled. Watch the server logs and chat to confirm the command runs with the correct permissions and produces the intended effect.
