Understand How Capeless Wings Separates Wing and Cape Visuals
How Standard Minecraft Works
By default, when you wear a cape, Minecraft applies the cape texture to your elytra wings as well. This means your wings copy your cape's pattern instead of showing the standard elytra design.
What Capeless Wings Does
This pack uses Minecraft's equipment model system to manage textures separately. It tells the game to display the true elytra texture on your wings while keeping your cape's pattern visible on your back. The two visuals no longer overlap or conflict.
Result
Your character now shows:
- Wings: Original grey elytra texture (both grounded and flying)
- Cape: Your chosen cape pattern, rendered independently behind you
This keeps your appearance faithful to standard Minecraft items while preserving cosmetic capes. No special configuration is needed—the pack handles the separation automatically once activated.
