Capeless Wings Resource Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Do I need to do anything after installing Capeless Wings or does it just work?
Capeless Wings works automatically once installed as a resource pack—just enable it in your resource pack menu and your elytra will show their true texture instead of your cape pattern right away.
Why does my elytra still look like my cape when I'm wearing one?
Make sure Capeless Wings is actually enabled in your resource packs list and ranked above any other packs that modify elytra textures; if it's disabled or lower in the load order, cape patterns will override it.
Can I use Capeless Wings with other resource packs at the same time?
Yes, Capeless Wings works alongside other packs, but place it higher in your resource pack load order than packs that also modify elytra to ensure it takes priority.
Does this mod change how my cape looks or only the elytra?
Capeless Wings only affects elytra wings—your cape appearance stays exactly the same, it just no longer overrides your wing texture.
Will Capeless Wings work if I don't have a cape equipped?
Yes, the pack works whether you're wearing a cape or not; without a cape, your elytra simply display their standard texture as normal.
Does this affect performance or cause lag?
Capeless Wings uses the standard equipment models system and adds no performance overhead—it's just texture management with no extra processing.
Can I use custom elytra textures from other packs with Capeless Wings?
If another pack modifies elytra textures, load Capeless Wings above it in your resource pack order; if you want a custom elytra look, you may need to edit Capeless Wings' files or choose one pack over the other.
Does Capeless Wings work in multiplayer or only singleplayer?
Capeless Wings works in both multiplayer and singleplayer since it's a client-side resource pack that only changes what you see on your screen.
What if I want to see my cape pattern on my elytra again?
Simply disable Capeless Wings in your resource pack menu and your cape pattern will return to your wings immediately.
Does this pack require any mods or does it work as a pure resource pack?
Capeless Wings is a pure resource pack with no mod installation required—it works directly through Minecraft's built-in resource pack system.
