Reduce Bloom and Adjust Lighting Intensity
Open Shader Configuration
Access the shader settings menu during gameplay. Navigate to the lighting or post-processing section where bloom and brightness controls are typically located.
Control Bloom Effect
Locate the bloom strength or glow intensity slider. Reducing this value decreases the bright halo effect around light sources like torches, lamps, and the sun. This is useful if bloom feels overwhelming or washes out details.
If bloom is disabled entirely but you want subtle glow, increase the value incrementally until it feels balanced with your world's aesthetic.
Adjust Overall Lighting
Find the ambient brightness or overall lighting slider to control how bright unlit areas appear. Increasing this brightens shadows and dark corners; decreasing it creates more dramatic contrast and deeper shadows.
Look for separate daytime and nighttime brightness controls if available. This lets you customize lighting independently for different times of day, creating more atmospheric gameplay during night cycles while maintaining visibility in caves and underground areas.
