Finding the Best Loot in Village Profession Chests
Identify the Profession House
Each village contains profession-specific houses tied to job sites. Look for the workstation block inside—a butcher's block, blast furnace, lectern, or loom—to confirm the profession. The chest inside that house now contains thematic loot matching that villager's trade.
Prioritize by Your Needs
For food and crops: Visit baker and fisherman houses first. Bakers stock baking ingredients, jams, and prepared goods; fishermen carry fresh and cured catches plus fishing supplies.
For tools and materials: Carpenter houses hold wood materials and logging tools. Toolsmiths, armorers, and weaponsmiths provide metal ores and forged gear. Masons offer stone materials matched to your biome's local stone type.
For rare items: Clerics contain books and brewing ingredients. Cartographers hold maps and cartography gear useful for navigation.
Check Biome Variants
Mason and shepherd loot adapts to biome. A mason in a desert village yields different stone materials than one in a mountain biome. Shepherd houses in different biomes contain biome-specific dyes and dyed fabrics, so revisit profession houses across multiple biomes for variety.
