Bountiful Pok Mon Survival Data Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Do I need normal mobs spawning to use this data pack?
No — this data pack is designed to work when vanilla mob spawns are disabled, letting you obtain all standard mob drops exclusively through Pokémon battles in Cobblemon. If you have both enabled, you'll get drops from both sources.
How do I get bones and gunpowder?
Defeat Pokémon that fall into the Plentiful Tier drop category; these species will drop bones and gunpowder in large stacks when defeated. Stronger and heavier Pokémon yield larger quantities, so prioritize battling evolved forms and heavy species.
What determines which meat type a Pokémon drops?
Meat type is based on the Pokémon's weight class and appearance: lightweight creatures drop rabbit meat, medium ones drop pork, heavy ones drop mutton, and massive ones drop beef. Animal-like species like Miltank or Wooloo drop their natural food types instead.
How rare are skulls and totems?
Skulls and totems are in the Rare Tier and drop with a small chance between one and three percent when you defeat powerful or rare Pokémon species. You'll need to battle consistently to accumulate them.
Can I get all music discs from Pokémon battles?
Yes — specific music discs are assigned to distinct Pokémon species, so defeating the right species will grant their corresponding disc. Check which Pokémon drop which discs in the mod's species list.
Do Pokémon still drop held items normally?
Yes — the data pack leaves Cobblemon's held item drop chances completely untouched, so you'll receive both vanilla mob drops and held items from defeated Pokémon.
Why am I not getting drops from every Pokémon I defeat?
Not every Pokémon species has a drop assignment; only those with vanilla mob equivalents (like skeletons, spiders, or cows) will drop items. Check the mod's species-to-drop mapping to see which Pokémon yield loot.
Will this data pack lag my world?
The data pack uses small, controlled drop pools to keep inventories tidy and performance stable. It should have minimal performance impact compared to running standard mob spawns.
How do I get ender pearls and ghast tears?
These items are in the Uncommon Tier and drop from Pokémon species that correspond to endermen and ghasts. Defeat multiple creatures to accumulate these drops in quantities from zero to three per battle.
Do bigger Pokémon always drop more items?
Generally yes — the data pack scales drop quantities based on the strength, rarity, and size of defeated Pokémon, so larger species yield more food and valuable loot than smaller ones.
