Troubleshooting Mosaic Display Issues

Fixing Common Visual Problems

If the mosaic effect isn't displaying correctly, check these common issues:

Verify Transparency Settings

If transparent blocks like glass or leaves appear solid or incorrectly colored, ensure your resource pack settings preserve alpha transparency. The pack is designed to keep transparent areas clear—if they're not, the pack may not be loading correctly.

Check Texture Resolution

The pack upscales textures from 16×16 to 256×256 for detail. If textures appear blurry or pixelated instead of showing distinct tiny blocks, your graphics settings or mipmapping options may be interfering. Try disabling mipmapping or adjusting texture filtering in your video settings.

Confirm Animation Support

Animated textures like fire and water should continue moving. If animations freeze or stutter, this may indicate a conflict with another mod or resource pack. Ensure Blockception is the only mosaic-style pack active.

Test with Different Blocks

Some blocks may display differently than others due to their original texture complexity. Solid blocks should show clear mosaics, while patterned blocks reveal more intricate tile arrangements. If one block looks wrong but others display correctly, it's likely intentional variation in the pack's design.
