Blockception Full Resource Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I enable the mosaic effect on all my textures?
Load the Blockception Full Resource Pack in your resource packs menu and move it to the active side. The pack automatically applies the mosaic effect to blocks, items, and mobs without any additional configuration needed.
Why do my textures look normal when I'm far away from blocks?
The pack is designed to match the original pixel colors so closely that from a distance the world appears unchanged. This is intentional—the mosaic detail only becomes visible when you zoom in or get close to objects.
Can I see the tiny blocks that make up the mosaic?
Yes, zoom in with your camera or get close to any block, item, or mob to see the hundreds of miniature block tiles that compose the texture. The effect is most dramatic when viewing items in your inventory or mobs up close.
Do animated textures like fire and water still move with this pack?
Yes, the pack preserves animations for moving textures like fire, water, lava, and other animated blocks so they continue to flow and flicker normally.
Will transparent textures like glass work properly?
Yes, the pack maintains transparency in areas that should be see-through, so glass, ice, and other transparent blocks remain functional and clear.
What happens if I use this pack with other resource packs?
Place the Blockception pack higher in your resource pack list to make it override other packs. If placed lower, other packs may overwrite the mosaic textures.
Does this pack work with mods that add new blocks or items?
The pack applies its mosaic effect to modded blocks and items using the same color-matching system, though the results depend on the mod's texture format and whether it's compatible with resource pack overrides.
Will using this pack affect my game performance?
The pack uses higher resolution textures (256×256 instead of 16×16), which may slightly increase memory usage, but most modern systems handle it without noticeable performance loss.
How many different block tiles does the pack use to create the mosaics?
The pack uses around 450 real block tiles from the game to compose every texture, carefully selected to match the colors of the original pixels.
Can I use this pack in multiplayer servers?
Yes, resource packs are client-side only, so you can use Blockception on any server without affecting other players or requiring server modifications.
