How do I start a game of Blindspot Gambit?
Use `/criteria settings set` to open the in-game menu and configure your play area size, maximum lives per team, and item behaviors, then have players join teams and wait in the designated area. The game begins once all settings are locked in and teams are ready.
What happens when a team's forbidden action gets triggered?
The team automatically loses one life when any player on that team completes their secret forbidden action. Once a team reaches zero lives, they are eliminated and the remaining teams continue competing.
How do I create a custom forbidden action?
Write a custom criteria entry in the configuration file using the action check format (movement, item, block, combat, or chat), apply wildcards and tags as needed, then assign it to a team with `/criteria grant `.
Can I change a team's forbidden action mid-game?
Yes, use `/criteria change ` to swap out their current forbidden task for a new one without resetting the game state or their life count.
How does the guessing system work?
Players speak their guess aloud in chat, then an admin or opponent uses `/criteria guess ` to judge whether the guess is correct, awarding or removing lives accordingly.
What does the 'reversed' tag do in a criteria configuration?
Setting `reversed: true` flips the logic so the forbidden action triggers when a player does NOT perform the specified action, rather than when they do.
Can I use wildcards to make a forbidden action harder to guess?
Yes, use `"*"` to match any item or entity, or `/` for no entity, making the criteria broader and harder for opponents to deduce from observation.
What should I do if a team accidentally triggers their forbidden action?
Use `/criteria set-life ` to manually adjust their life count, or use `/criteria trigger-forced ` if you need to apply a penalty that bypasses normal checks.
Does this plugin work with other Paper plugins?
Blindspot Gambit is built for Paper servers and should work alongside most plugins, but custom criteria using specific item or block names may conflict if other plugins modify those names.
How do I reset the game and restore all team lives?
