Preserve Biome Colors While Using Blending

How Biome Colors Work with Blending

Grass, leaves, and water are tinted based on biome temperature and humidity. Better Blending can soften texture edges while keeping these original biome colors intact, so a desert's golden grass stays distinct from a forest's green.

Ensuring Colors Stay True

1. Open config/better-blending.json

2. Check for a setting like preserve_biome_colors, keep_tints, or respect_biome_tinting

3. Ensure this setting is enabled (true)

4. Save and reload your world

What This Means in Practice

When enabled, blending affects only the texture gradients between blocks—the color overlay from biomes remains unchanged. Grass in a cold taiga will still look pale and cool-toned, while savanna grass stays warm and golden, even as their edges blend smoothly with neighboring stone or dirt.

If Colors Look Wrong

If biome colors seem muted or incorrect after enabling blending, double-check that biome color preservation is turned on. Some configurations may also let you adjust how strongly biome colors are applied alongside blending.
