Enable or Disable Specific Visual Effects
Access Effect Toggles
Open shader settings (pause menu → Options → Video Settings → Shaders → shader config). The menu displays toggles and sliders for individual effects.
Common Effects to Control
- Light Bloom: Glow around torches, fire, and bright blocks—disable for a cleaner look or to improve performance
- Soft Shadows: Toggle shadow rendering entirely or adjust softness
- Color Grading: Warm/cool tone adjustments that define the fantasy aesthetic
- Sky Effects: Cloud rendering and atmospheric clarity
- Ambient Lighting: Overall world brightness independent of direct light sources
Customize Your Look
Enable effects you enjoy and disable those that don't match your preference. For example:
- Keep bloom for atmospheric builds
- Disable it for technical or minimalist projects
- Adjust color grading to shift between warm daytime and cool nighttime feels
Performance vs. Visuals
Each effect has a performance cost. Disabling unnecessary effects on low-end devices frees up resources without sacrificing the shader's core appeal.
