ArnavMC’s Shaders FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I turn on the shader after installing it?
Launch Minecraft and open Options > Video Settings > Shaders, then select ArnavMC's Shaders from the list and click Apply. The shader will activate immediately in your world.
Why does my game look too dark or too bright with this shader?
Open the shader settings menu (usually by pressing a key like Right Shift or through Video Settings) and adjust the Brightness and Contrast sliders until the lighting matches your preference.
Can I use this shader on a low-end PC without lag?
Yes, this shader is specifically designed for low-end and potato devices. If you still experience lag, try disabling specific visual effects like bloom or shadow quality through the shader settings.
How do I make shadows point in a different direction?
Access the shader configuration menu and look for shadow direction or sun position settings, where you can adjust the angle to match your desired lighting direction.
Why aren't the light blooms showing around my torches?
Check that bloom is enabled in the shader settings—it may be turned off by default or set to a low intensity. Increase the bloom strength slider if it's already enabled.
Does this shader work with resource packs?
Yes, this shader is compatible with most resource packs and will layer on top of them to enhance lighting and shadows while keeping your chosen textures intact.
Can I disable just the shadows but keep the bloom effects?
Open the shader settings and toggle individual visual effects on or off—you can disable shadows while leaving bloom, contrast, and other effects active.
Why do caves look weird or too bright with this shader?
Adjust the brightness setting lower for underground areas, or disable bloom temporarily in caves since the shader enhances all light sources including torches in enclosed spaces.
Is this shader compatible with Optifine or other optimization mods?
This shader works best as a standalone visual enhancement; compatibility with other shader mods or heavy optimization mods may cause conflicts or performance issues.
How do I turn off the shader and go back to normal Minecraft?
Go to Options > Video Settings > Shaders and select (None) or the default option, then click Apply to remove the shader effects.
