Customize Shadow Direction and Timing
Locate Shadow Settings
Open shader configuration (pause menu → Options → Video Settings → Shaders → shader config). Find options labeled Shadow Direction, Time of Day, or Sun/Moon Position.
Adjust Shadow Angle
Some shader packs allow you to manually set shadow direction independent of time. This lets you:
- Cast shadows from a specific angle for aesthetic screenshots
- Simulate different times of day without waiting
- Create dramatic lighting for builds
If a slider exists for this, adjust it to rotate shadow direction around your world.
Sync with Day-Night Cycle
Most settings default to following Minecraft's natural day-night cycle. Shadows automatically shift as the sun and moon move. You can typically toggle this behavior on or off—useful if you want fixed lighting for creative work.
