How do I start using this mod?
Place a damaged item in the left slot of an anvil and its matching repair material in the right slot—it costs a flat 2 experience levels every time, regardless of how damaged the item is. Check the Repair Materials table on this wiki to see which materials work with which items.
Why does my anvil say the operation is too expensive?
By default, the mod blocks anvil operations costing 40 levels or more to prevent softlocks. If you want to allow these high-cost operations, enable the `allowHighAnvilCost` option in your mod config.
Can I repair items that aren't in the repair materials list?
No, this mod only supports direct material repairs for the specific items listed in the Repair Materials table. For other items, you'll need to use the traditional anvil combining method or extract and clone enchantments instead.
How do I duplicate an enchanted book?
Place the enchanted book in the left slot and up to 4 blank books in the right slot of an anvil. Each blank book will receive a copy of all enchantments from the original for a single operation cost.
What's the difference between extracting and cloning?
Extracting takes all enchantments from an undamaged item onto a clean book (costs 1 level) and leaves the original item unenchanted. Cloning copies all enchantments from a fully enchanted item onto an unenchanted base item of the same type (costs 25 levels) and keeps the original enchanted.
Can I combine two enchanted books to level up an enchantment?
No, this mod prevents enchantment level increases when combining identical books to maintain balance with the book duplication feature. You can only reduce enchantment levels by combining a book with flint.
How do I lower an enchantment level on a book?
Combine an enchanted book with a piece of flint in an anvil to reduce any non-curse enchantment by 1 tier. Curse enchantments cannot be downgraded this way.
Do I lose enchantments when I repair gear?
No, repairing with raw materials preserves all enchantments on your item. The flat 2-level cost applies whether your item is enchanted or not.
Can I use this mod with other mods that add custom items?
The mod works with items from other mods as long as they use standard Minecraft durability. Custom items may not appear in the repair materials list, so you won't be able to use direct material repairs on them.
What happens if I clone an item with multiple enchantments?
All enchantments transfer to the blank base item in a single operation for 25 levels. The cloned item will have identical enchantment levels to the original.
