Enhance Daytime Landscape Visibility Without Oversaturation
Access Sky and Terrain Lighting
Open the shader configuration menu and find the Sky and Terrain or Global Lighting options. Aquareal Shaders separates daytime lighting controls from nighttime settings.
Adjust Daylight Balance
- Shadow Softness: Reduce harsh shadow edges for a more natural look, or increase contrast for dramatic terrain definition.
- Sky Brightness: Control overall daytime luminosity without washing out colors.
- Color Saturation: Prevent oversaturation by keeping this moderate. Rich tones should remain visible without appearing artificial.
- Ambient Light Intensity: This fills shadowed areas with subtle light, maintaining detail visibility in valleys and under trees.
Verify Across Biomes
Travel through different biomes—forests, deserts, mountains, and plains—to ensure your settings maintain readability everywhere. Shadows should be visible but not impenetrable; colors should feel vibrant without looking cartoonish. Adjust settings in small increments, as lighting changes compound across the landscape. Test at different times of day to catch any jarring transitions between dawn, noon, and dusk.
