Clear a vertical stone column down to bedrock

Switch to chunk-locked column mode

Press O to open settings. Select the chunk-locked column clear mode from the mining modes list. This mode breaks all blocks in a vertical column within a single chunk.

Adjust chunk depth in settings

While in settings, find the chunk depth option. This controls how far down the column extends. Increase it to clear deeper, or decrease it to limit the depth. Save your preferences.

Position yourself at the top

Stand at or near the top of the stone column you want to clear. Hold a pickaxe and aim at the topmost stone block.

Preview the column

The outline preview shows the vertical column that will break—all blocks stacked downward within the chunk boundary.

Break the column

Swing once. The mod breaks the entire vertical column in waves, with block sounds playing as it progresses downward.

Collect drops

All stone and ore drops float toward you. If you hit ores during the column clear, Fortune and Silk Touch work normally.

Repeat for adjacent columns

Move to the next column and swing again. This mode is ideal for clearing large underground areas or creating vertical shafts quickly.
