Walk and Fight on the Ceiling

Activate Inverted Gravity

Drink a Chorus Potion to trigger the inverted gravity effect. Your character will flip upside down and your camera will smoothly rotate 180 degrees, reorienting you so the ceiling becomes your new floor.

Move Normally on the Ceiling

Once inverted, you can walk, sprint, jump, and crouch on the ceiling just as you would on normal ground. Ladders work too—climb them to move vertically along walls. Your character model and animations will display correctly to other players in multiplayer.

Combat and Safety

You can fight mobs while inverted. Shoot arrows at hostile mobs to send them floating upward into the sky. Your first contact with the ceiling is cushioned to prevent damage, but subsequent jumps into the ceiling will deal normal fall damage.

To stop falling upward, use water, lava, ladders, or deploy your elytra to glide safely back down.
