Safely Land After Falling Upward

Understand Fall Mechanics

When inverted, falling upward into the ceiling is dangerous. Your first contact with the ceiling is protected by landing cushioning that prevents damage, but subsequent jumps and falls will deal normal fall damage.

Use Water to Break Your Fall

Place or find water sources on the ceiling. Falling upward into water will slow your ascent and prevent damage, just like normal water breaks fall damage.

Deploy Alternative Safety Methods

Ladders work while inverted—grab one to stop your upward momentum. Lava also slows your ascent, though it deals damage over time. Your elytra can be deployed mid-fall to glide safely downward and regain control.

Plan Your Jumps

Be cautious when jumping on the ceiling during extended inverted gravity sessions. Space your jumps carefully and always have an escape route planned. Keep water buckets or elytra accessible for emergency situations.
