Understand Server-Side Marker Sharing

How Structure Markers Save and Sync

When you discover a structure—like a dragon roost, dungeon, or waystone—the mod automatically places a marker on your atlas. This marker data saves on the server, not just locally. When you or other players load the chunk containing that structure, the marker syncs to your atlas book automatically.

Personal vs. Shared Markers

Structure markers are shared across all players who discover them, but your personal edits remain private. If you delete a marker from your atlas book, it only removes it from your view—other players still see it. This prevents accidental loss of important location data on multiplayer servers.

Performance Optimization

The mod splits marker sync data into batches of 100 to prevent server lag spikes when many markers update at once. Only players holding an atlas receive map sync packets, reducing unnecessary network traffic.
