Create and Load Your First Custom Character Model
Prepare Your Files
Before loading a custom character, gather three files with matching base names:
- A GeckoLib model file (.geo.json format)
- A texture file (PNG image)
- An animation file (.animation.json format)
For example: knight.geo.json, knight.png, and knight.animation.json.
Organize Into the Morpher Folder
Locate your game directory and find the morpher folder created by the mod. Inside, you'll see three subfolders:
- Place your
.geo.jsonfile in thegeofolder - Place your
.pngtexture in thetexturesfolder - Place your
.animation.jsonfile in theanimationsfolder
Keep the base names identical across all three files—this is critical for the mod to recognize them as a complete character set.
Load and Activate
Open Minecraft and run /morpher reload to scan your morpher folder for new files. Once loaded, apply your model with /morpher <Your Name> set model knight, then set the texture with /morpher <Your Name> set texture knight, and the animation with /morpher <Your Name> set anim knight. Finally, make it visible using /morpher <Your Name> visible true. Your custom character should now appear in-game.
