Animal Pens Paperized Plugin FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I make my first animal pen?
Place a smooth stone slab on the ground, then put an Animal Cage or Animal Container on top of it. The pen is now ready to use—click on nearby animals to capture them into the cage.
Can I store multiple animals in one pen?
Yes, you can store dozens of animals in a single pen block. The animal model inside will shrink as you add more creatures to show how many you're storing.
How do I get the Animal Cage and containers?
Use the command `/animal_pen items` to open a menu where you can grab the cages and containers you need without crafting.
What happens to animal colors and variants when I capture them?
The mod saves the exact colors and variants of every animal you pick up, so when you release or breed them, they keep their original appearance.
How do I breed animals inside the pen?
Feed the animals directly inside the pen by clicking on it with their food item—no need to let them roam free. When two animals are fed, they'll breed inside the pen.
Can I collect wool, milk, and eggs without releasing the animals?
Yes. Click on the pen to shear sheep, milk cows, brush armadillos, and collect eggs from chickens, turtles, and sniffers while they stay trapped inside.
How do I get frog lights from a frog pen?
Drop magma cubes into a pen containing frogs, and the frogs will produce frog lights that you can collect.
What do I do if items are piling up on the ground?
The mod has built-in limits for wool and eggs to prevent too many items from dropping. You can also adjust these limits in the `animal_foods.json` configuration file.
How do I release an animal from the pen?
Crouch (sneak) and click on the ground near the pen to release one animal at a time.
Will this mod reduce server lag?
Yes, storing dozens of animals in a single block instead of letting them roam free significantly reduces server lag from entity processing.
