Ancient Overgrown Cartography Data Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Do I need both YUNG's Better Jungle Temples and Big Globe for this to work?
Yes, this data pack requires both mods to be active in your world. Without either one, the compatibility fixes won't apply and temples may generate incorrectly or not at all.
Why are my jungle temples still floating or clipping into mountains?
Make sure the data pack is loaded before you explore new jungle terrain—it only affects newly generated chunks. If temples are still broken in existing chunks, you may need to explore further out or regenerate that area.
How do I know if the data pack is actually loaded in my world?
Use the command `/datapack list` in-game to see all active data packs; the Ancient Overgrown Cartography pack should appear in the enabled list. If it's not there, check that the zip file is in your world's datapacks folder and reload.
Can I use this data pack with other jungle structure mods?
This data pack is specifically designed for YUNG's Better Jungle Temples and Big Globe compatibility. Using it with other structure mods may cause conflicts or unpredictable generation.
Do the hidden rooms and treasure vaults work the same as vanilla jungle temples?
Yes, all hidden chambers, traps, and loot remain fully functional and accessible—the data pack only fixes how the structure spawns on custom terrain, not its internal layout.
What should I bring to explore these temples safely?
Bring tools for mining (especially pickaxes), weapons for combat, food, and torches or light sources. The temples contain hostile mobs and pressure plate traps, so armor and healing items are recommended.
Will this data pack slow down my world or cause lag?
The data pack only adjusts structure placement rules and shouldn't noticeably impact performance. Lag depends more on your Big Globe terrain settings and overall mod load.
Can I add this data pack to a world that already has temples generated?
Yes, but the fix only applies to newly generated chunks. Temples that already spawned in old chunks won't be corrected unless you delete and regenerate that terrain.
What do I do if I can't find any jungle temples even with this installed?
Make sure you're in a jungle biome (not a variant), that the data pack is enabled, and that you've explored far enough from your spawn point. Use the `/locate structure` command to pinpoint the nearest temple.
Is this data pack compatible with multiplayer servers?
Yes, place the data pack in the server's world datapacks folder just as you would in single-player, and all players will benefit from the structure generation fixes.
