AmberVeil Shaders FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I enable AmberVeil Shaders after installing it?
Launch Minecraft with Iris installed, go to Options > Video Settings > Shaders, and select AmberVeil Shaders from the shader pack list. The shader will apply immediately to your world.
Why doesn't colored light show through my glass blocks?
Make sure you're using tinted glass or stained glass blocks—regular glass won't produce the colored light bleed effect. The light source must be on one side of the glass and the observer on the other for the effect to be visible.
My FPS dropped a lot after installing this shader. What can I do?
Open the shader options menu (usually by pressing a hotkey in-game or through Video Settings) and switch to a lower quality preset. You can also disable specific features like bloom or reduce shadow quality to improve performance.
Can I use AmberVeil Shaders with other mods?
Yes, AmberVeil works with most mods, but mods that heavily modify lighting or add custom blocks may have visual conflicts. Test your mod combination in a small world first to check for issues.
How do I get the best water reflections with this shader?
Water reflections work best in clear, open areas with sky visibility and bright light sources nearby. Avoid placing water in deep caves or heavily shadowed areas where reflections won't be visible.
Why do my shadows look too dark or too light?
Adjust the shadow intensity slider in the shader options menu to match your preference. You can also modify the overall brightness setting to balance shadows with ambient lighting across your world.
Does this shader work in the Nether and End?
Yes, AmberVeil applies to all dimensions, though the warm, fantasy aesthetic works most noticeably in the Overworld. The Nether's natural red tones and the End's void lighting will interact differently with the shader's color grading.
Can I customize which blocks emit colored light?
AmberVeil uses Minecraft's built-in light-emitting blocks (like glowstone, lanterns, and candles) as its light sources. You cannot add custom blocks to the light system, but you can use colored glass near these blocks to create the colored light bleed effect.
What's the difference between the performance presets?
Lower presets reduce shadow resolution, disable some bloom effects, and simplify reflections to improve FPS, while higher presets enable all visual features at full quality. Choose based on your target frame rate and hardware capabilities.
Why does my world look washed out or too saturated?
Adjust the color saturation and contrast sliders in the shader options to find a balance that suits your taste. If the issue persists, check that your monitor brightness and gamma settings aren't conflicting with the shader's color grading.
