Aesyin’s Shaders FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I turn the shader on after installing it?
Open your Options menu in-game, go to Video Settings, then select Shaders. Find Aesyin's Shaders in the list and click it to activate. You'll see the cartoon effect apply immediately to your world.
Why does my game look washed out or too bright?
The bloom effect might be too strong for your preference. Open the shader settings (usually by clicking the Settings button next to the shader name) and look for bloom or brightness controls to dial it back.
Can I use this shader with other mods?
Yes, Aesyin's Shaders works with most mods, but mods that heavily alter lighting or add custom blocks may look unusual. Test your setup in a test world first if you're combining many mods.
My FPS dropped a lot after installing the shader. What can I do?
Try lowering shadow quality or bloom intensity in the shader settings, or reduce your render distance. If performance is still poor, check that your graphics drivers are up to date and that you're not running other demanding programs.
Do the plants actually move or is it just a visual effect?
The foliage movement is purely visual—it doesn't affect gameplay or collision. Plants sway gently to give the world more life, but you can still walk through them normally.
Why do my shadows look different or broken in certain areas?
Shadows can behave oddly near water, transparent blocks, or custom structures from mods. Try adjusting shadow distance or quality in the shader settings, or check if a mod is conflicting with shadow rendering.
Can I make the cartoon effect less extreme?
Open the shader settings and look for options like saturation, contrast, or stylization intensity. Lowering these values will make the world look closer to vanilla while keeping the soft bloom and improved shadows.
Does this shader work in multiplayer?
Yes, shaders are client-side only, so you can use Aesyin's Shaders on any server without needing the server to have it installed.
Why do glowing blocks look too bright or too dim?
Adjust the bloom intensity setting in the shader options—increase it to make glowing blocks pop more, or decrease it if they're overwhelming your view.
Is this shader compatible with Fabulous graphics mode?
Shaders replace Fabulous mode entirely, so you'll need to switch to Fancy or Fast graphics when using Aesyin's Shaders. The shader will handle advanced lighting effects on its own.
