Troubleshooting Low Frame Rates and Visual Glitches
Diagnose Performance Issues
If you experience frame drops, first check your current profile. Even on potato settings, very old hardware may struggle. Use F3 (or your debug screen) to monitor frame rates in different environments.
Lower Your Profile
If your chosen profile causes stuttering, switch to a lower tier. Potato profile is the minimum; if that's still slow, the shader may not be compatible with your system's age or drivers.
Disable Individual Features
Within your profile, look for toggles for:
- Shadow rendering
- Water reflections
- Advanced lighting effects
Disabling these one at a time helps identify which feature causes slowdown.
Check Driver Updates
Outdated graphics drivers can cause poor shader performance. Update your GPU drivers through your manufacturer's control panel.
Report Visual Glitches
If you see texture corruption, flickering, or color banding, verify your profile matches your hardware. Some glitches resolve by switching profiles or restarting the game. Persistent issues may indicate driver incompatibility rather than shader problems.
