Adjust Shadow Quality and Performance
Access Shader Settings
Open the shader options menu by pressing Right Shift (or your configured key) while in-game, then select Shader Options. Look for the shadow-related settings panel.
Configure Shadow Parameters
Locate the shadow distance and quality sliders. Increasing shadow distance extends how far shadows render from your character, while quality settings control shadow map resolution and softness. Higher values create more detailed, realistic shadows but reduce frame rate.
Balance Performance
If you experience lag, reduce shadow distance first—this has the largest performance impact. Next, lower shadow quality or enable shadow filtering optimizations if available. Test changes by moving through different lighting conditions (sunrise, noon, dense forests) to ensure shadows look natural at your chosen settings.
Save Your Configuration
Once satisfied, your settings save automatically. If you switch between performance and quality presets, you can reload defaults from the shader menu and reconfigure as needed.
