Using the Sticky Yoyo and Shear Yoyo

Sticky Yoyo

The Sticky Yoyo is a utility variant built from Cord and sticky materials in a shaped recipe. Its purpose is to grab and pull rather than simply strike. Throw it at a target or surface and it holds instead of immediately snapping back, which lets you drag mobs toward you or reposition yourself relative to a block.

Use it when you want control: pulling a mob out of a group, retrieving something at range, or holding a line while you close distance. Because it sticks, you do not need to re-throw as often as with the plain metal yoyos.

Shear Yoyo

The Shear Yoyo is the harvesting variant. Craft it with Cord and shears in a shaped recipe. Instead of acting purely as a weapon, it applies shear behaviour at range, letting you reach wool, leaves, and similar shearable blocks without walking up to them.

Choosing Between Them

Carry the Sticky Yoyo when mobility and pulling matter, and the Shear Yoyo when you are gathering resources. Neither replaces the Diamond Yoyo in a fight — keep a damage yoyo in a separate slot and swap based on the task in front of you.

Cord Supply

Both variants consume Cord. Stock Cord before a long trip so you can rebuild either yoyo if you lose one.
