Using the Controller to Move Items Between Inventories

Open the Controller Interface

Right-click the Controller to open its configuration screen. The Controller is the brain of the network: it reads every Connector attached to its cables and lets you define what each one does. Only blocks touched by a Connector appear here.

Assign Roles to Connectors

Each Connector on the network shows up in the Controller. Give each one a direction: a Connector on a chest can be set to extract, a Connector on a machine can be set to insert, and a Connector on a tank can do either for fluids. Because the Controller sees all Connectors at once, you can route from any inventory to any other inventory on the same network without running separate pipes between them.

Use color to separate jobs. A Blue Connector on your storage and a Blue Connector on a furnace, both on Blue Network Cable, let the Controller move items from storage into the furnace. A second color on the same Controller handles a different job independently.

Extend and Adjust

Add more Connectors along the cable to bring more blocks under Controller control. If you need a Connector to reach a block that is not directly adjacent to the cable, use an Advanced Connector of the matching color — Advanced Blue Connector, Advanced Green Connector, Advanced Red Connector, Advanced Yellow Connector, or Advanced Routing Connector — which extends the reach. Reopen the Controller any time to change what each Connector extracts or inserts.
