Extending Connector Reach with the Connector Upgrade Kit

Why Reach Matters

A basic Connector must touch both the cable and the target block. When the block you want to control sits away from your cable run, a basic Connector cannot bridge the gap. The Connector Upgrade Kit solves this by upgrading a Connector so it can reach further.

Apply the Upgrade

Craft a Connector Upgrade Kit, then combine it with the Connector you want to extend. The upgraded Connector keeps its color and its place on the network, but its reach increases, so it can link a cable to a block that is not directly against it.

Upgrade the Connector that matches your network color: Blue Connector, Green Connector, Red Connector, Yellow Connector, or Routing Connector. The upgraded result still belongs to the same colored network, so the Controller sees it exactly as before — only the distance it can span changes.

When to Use Advanced Connectors

The Advanced Connector line — Advanced Blue Connector, Advanced Green Connector, Advanced Red Connector, Advanced Yellow Connector, and Advanced Routing Connector — provides the extended-reach behavior directly. Use an Advanced Connector when you are placing a new connection across a gap, and use the Connector Upgrade Kit when you already have a Connector in place and want to extend it without replacing it.

Either way, the rule stays the same: the Connector must touch the cable on one side and reach the target block on the other, and its color must match the cable.
