Optimizing Performance on Low-End Hardware

Disable Unnecessary Features

Xelvora Shaders is lightweight by design, but you can streamline it further. In Shader Options, look for toggles related to ambient occlusion or advanced lighting effects. Disabling these reduces calculations without removing core shadow functionality.

Lower Shadow Resolution

Reduce shadow map resolution to the lowest comfortable setting. This is the single most impactful change for weak laptops. Shadows will appear slightly softer, but your frame rate will improve dramatically.

Adjust Render Distance

Pair shader optimization with a moderate render distance (8–12 chunks). Fewer chunks mean fewer shadows to calculate. This combination keeps the world visible and responsive without overwhelming your CPU or GPU.

Monitor Frame Rate

Use F3 debug screen to watch FPS while adjusting settings. Make one change at a time so you understand which settings matter most on your hardware. Once you find a stable configuration, save it and avoid further tweaking unless performance degrades.
