Adjusting Shadow Quality and Distance

Access Shader Settings

Open the Shader Options menu from your Video Settings. Look for the Xelvora Shaders configuration panel—this is where you control how shadows render across your world.

Tweak Shadow Parameters

Locate the shadow distance slider. Increasing this value extends how far shadows cast from light sources, creating more dramatic lighting across terrain and structures. Decreasing it improves frame rate on lower-end systems by rendering fewer shadow calculations.

Find the shadow quality or resolution setting. Higher values produce sharper, more defined shadows on blocks and entities. Lower values blur shadows slightly but reduce GPU strain—useful if you're experiencing frame drops during intense PvP sessions.

Test Your Changes

Apply settings and load into your world. Move toward different light sources—the sun, torches, and lava—to see how shadows respond. Pay attention to performance; if frames dip below your target, reduce shadow distance or quality incrementally.

Shadow settings are saved per-world, so you can maintain different configurations for survival, creative, and PvP servers based on your hardware and visual preferences.
