Crafting Pine Boats and Pine Boats with Chest

Gather Pine Planks First

Pine Boat and Pine Boat with Chest are both crafted from Pine Planks. Make a stack of Pine Planks before you start, since you will need several for each boat. The Pine Boat uses the standard boat shape — planks arranged in the familiar hull pattern. The Pine Boat with Chest adds a chest to that same layout, so keep one chest on hand for the second recipe.

Using the Boats

Place a Pine Boat on water and right-click to ride it. Use it to cross rivers, lakes, or flooded areas in the mire biome. A Pine Boat with Chest carries inventory while you travel, which is useful when hauling Pine Wood, Pine Snag Wood, or Aged Pine Wood back to base. Break either boat with an axe or by hand to recover it.

Pairing With Other Pine Blocks

If you are building a dock, line the shore with Pine Planks, Pine Slab, and Pine Fence. Add a Pine Fence Gate as the entry point and a Pine Hanging Sign overhead to label the slip. Pine Trapdoor works as a small ramp edge or a cover for a boat storage nook. Everything stays in the same wood family, so the dock matches the boats.

Storage Tips

Keep spare Pine Boats in a chest near the water so you can replace a lost one quickly. Pine Boat with Chest is best reserved for long trips where you expect to pick up loot or harvest wood along the way.
