Building a Pine Base: Planks, Signs, Fences and Storage

Lay the Foundation

Start with Pine Planks as your primary building block. Craft them in bulk, then convert part of the stack into Pine Stairs and Pine Slab for roofs and floors. Use Pine Wood, Stripped Pine Wood, Aged Pine Wood, or Pine Snag Wood as corner posts and beams to break up the plank walls. Stripped Pine Wood next to plain Pine Planks gives a clean contrast without leaving the Pine palette.

Walls, Windows and Entrances

Line the walls with Pine Planks and cut in Pine Trapdoor windows for ventilation. Fit a Pine Door at the entrance and frame it with Pine Fence or Pine Fence Gate if you want a porch. Pine Button and Pine Pressure Plate can be wired to the door for hands-free entry — place the button beside the door and the pressure plate on the inside floor.

Signage and Labeling

Use Pine Sign on walls to mark rooms, and Pine Hanging Sign under ceiling blocks for overhead labels in hallways or over chests. Both accept text, so label your storage room, your crafting area, and your Pine Cone Jam chest so you can find them fast.

Storage and Travel

Build chests into the walls and label them with Pine Signs. Keep a Pine Boat with Chest docked outside if your base sits on water, and a plain Pine Boat for quick crossings. A Pine Fence perimeter with a Pine Fence Gate keeps the yard enclosed while matching the rest of the build.
