Change Your Wooden Pickaxe to Match a Specific Wood Type

Prepare Your Tool and Anvil

First, gather a wooden pickaxe (any basic wooden tool works) and locate an anvil. You'll also need enough experience levels to pay the anvil's renaming cost.

Rename Using the Material Name

1. Open the anvil interface

2. Place your wooden pickaxe in the left slot

3. In the name field, type the exact wood type you want: Oak, Spruce, Birch, Jungle, Acacia, Dark Oak, Mangrove, Cherry, Pale Oak, or Bamboo

4. Confirm the rename and take your tool

The texture updates instantly to match the wood type you typed. For example, typing "Spruce" gives your pickaxe a snowy forest appearance, while "Cherry" creates a bright, distinctive look.

Tips

  • The mod works with any wooden tool: pickaxes, axes, shovels, and hoes
  • Nether explorers can also type Crimson or Warped for special Nether wood textures
  • The name must match exactly (capitalization matters for most wood types)
  • You can rename the same tool multiple times to switch between styles
