How to Craft Diamond Wolf Armor

Mine and Prepare Diamonds

Diamond Wolf Armor requires diamonds. Mine diamond ore with an iron pickaxe or better, or find diamonds in chests. You need enough diamonds for a shaped recipe at a crafting table. Bring them back to your base and convert them into the armor piece.

Craft the Armor

At a crafting table, arrange the diamonds in the shaped pattern used for wolf armor. The output is one Diamond Wolf Armor piece. This is a high-tier armor, so craft it only when you are ready to commit the diamonds.

Equip Your Wolf

Right-click a tamed wolf while holding Diamond Wolf Armor. The armor attaches and shows on the wolf. The wolf now has strong protection against most damage sources.

Protect Your Investment

Diamond Wolf Armor is expensive to replace. Avoid sending an armored wolf into lava, off cliffs, or into large mob groups where it can be separated from you. Carry the wolf's armor in your inventory when traveling through the Nether if you are not sure the wolf will survive. If the wolf dies, the armor is lost with it.

Upgrade to Netherite

Diamond Wolf Armor is the base for the Netherite upgrade. Once you have netherite scrap and a smithing table, you can convert Diamond Wolf Armor into Netherite Wolf Armor using the smithing recipe. Keep the diamond piece until you have the materials for that final step.
