Identifying Animals

The Animal Identifier Tool is used to inspect animals in the world. Hold the tool and use it on an animal to identify its species. This is useful when multiple similar animals exist, such as the various Cheetah variants:

• Cheetah (Female) Spawn Egg and Cheetah (Male) Spawn Egg
• Cheetah Chinchilla (Female) Spawn Egg and Cheetah Chinchilla (Male) Spawn Egg
• Cheetah Maltese (Female) Spawn Egg and Cheetah Maltese (Male) Spawn Egg
• Cheetah Strawberry (Female) Spawn Egg and Cheetah Strawberry (Male) Spawn Egg

Use the identifier on any animal you are unsure about before deciding how to house or breed it.

Recording with the Animal Enciclopedia

The Animal Enciclopedia is your reference book. As you identify animals with the Animal Identifier Tool, the Enciclopedia records the species you have encountered. Keep it in your inventory while exploring so new identifications are logged automatically.

Workflow

1. Craft the Animal Identifier Tool and Animal Enciclopedia.

2. Carry both while exploring.

3. Use the Identifier on each new animal.

4. Check the Enciclopedia to see which species you have recorded.

This lets you track which animals you have found and which spawn eggs you still need to collect.
