How to Trap and Contain Animals with Cage Blocks
Trap and Open Cage Blocks
Two cage block variants exist: Cage Block (Trap) and Cage Block (Opened). The Trap variant captures animals that walk into it. The Opened variant is the state after a trap has been triggered or when you want to release an animal.
Setting a Trap
Place a Cage Block (Trap) where animals are likely to walk. When an animal enters, the trap closes and contains it. Use this for animals that are difficult to catch with spawn eggs alone, such as:
- Common Chimpanzee Spawn Egg
- Capybara Spawn Egg
- Black Tamarin Spawn Egg
- Common Marmoset Spawn Egg
- Brown Capuchin Spawn Egg
Once trapped, the animal is held in the Cage Block (Opened) state.
Moving Trapped Animals
After trapping, you can relocate the animal or transfer it to a proper enclosure. Use the Rodent Cage for small mammals, the Bird Cage for birds, or the Small Reptile Terrarium for reptiles. The Cage Block is a capture tool, not a permanent display.
Display Options
For permanent display of your captured animals, use Display Base, Display Small, Display Small Top, and Display Glass variants. These let you build enclosed cases that show off your collection while keeping animals contained.
