Edit and Customize Plant Models

Accessing Source Files

Wild Vanilla includes 10 Blockbench source models that you can inspect and modify. These files allow you to alter the geometry, proportions, and appearance of plants to suit your preferences or server aesthetic.

Opening Models in Blockbench

Locate the source model files included with the pack. Open Blockbench and load one of these files to begin editing. The interface shows the 3D structure of the plant, including all cubes and faces that make up the model.

Making Changes

You can adjust:

  • Geometry: Add, remove, or resize cubes to change plant shape
  • Rotation and positioning: Tilt leaves or branches to different angles
  • Texture mapping: Reassign which textures appear on which faces

Exporting Your Changes

After editing, export the model back into the resource pack's model folder. Test your changes in-game by reloading the resource pack. If the model doesn't appear, check that the file path and name match the original.

Sharing Custom Variants

If you create variants you like, you can duplicate and rename model files to add multiple versions of the same plant, similar to how the pack already includes variants for dandelions and ferns.
